What powder/foundation should I use for oily/dry skin.?

I currently use cover-girl pressed powder. It seems like my face is more oily with it. I'm a dark skinned black woman with red tones so any dark powder doesn't work because it's too dark. I prefer powder because I don't need a lot of coverage. Any suggestions? What powder/foundation should I use for oily/dry skin.?

You should really check out mineral based makeup, almost all of it comes in powder form and it is great for all skin types. I know that some brands don't offer darker skin tones, but I'm 99% sure Bare Escentuals does, and you can find them on QVC, in Sephora, or even on Ebay.

I've used mineral based makeup for years and I looooove it. I wrote an article about my experience that you can check out here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>

What powder/foundation should I use for oily/dry skin.?
try bare minerals...pricey but worth it

I bought powder foundation that is to dark for my skin?

What do I do with it? its l'oreal true blend powder

but its too dark for my skin

and it was 10 dollars and i have no more money

    and i cant return it.

i dont want to just leave it

help?I bought powder foundation that is to dark for my skin?
friggin idiot!I bought powder foundation that is to dark for my skin?
everyone has made that mistake... i kno i have.. if you have the reciept you should be able to exchange it especially if its from wal-mart or target trust me i have done it before... but so you dont run into these problems try mac they will match you perfectly a bit pricey but you dont have to purchase makeup all the time 1 bottle of foundation is 25-30$$ depending on what type you get... good luck!!
When u get more money get a couple shades lighter and mix it together, ladies have been doing that for yrs, when to get the exact shade, I mix liquid foundation to get the right shade.
If it is loose powder, you could probably mix lighter loose powder into it. Or maybe you could just use a little bit of it as a bronzer or like blush.
wat i do wen i buy a powder that is too dark is a ix a lighter powder into.. do it a little at a time until u reach the desired shade...
i dont know what to tell you. but next time i suggest buying make-up at cvs because they have this policy where they take any make-up back (even if its open) as long as there's a receipt. well, good luck [:
if you dont want to look tacky, just save up for a new one. start going to walmart and cvs where you are allowed to return/exchange with a receipt
My friend did that. She used it as a blusher and it looked really great and natural :)
    Use it as a bronzer[:

or when you contour your nose to make it look smaller.

    Good Luck!
try returning it what have you got to loose?

What brand combination of foundation & powder will hold throughout the day?

I use covergirl, and it holds but I feel like the makeup is heavy. I want something that doesn't feel like I'm wearing a ton of makeup; something light. Also, I want it to match my skin color ( my face is a fair tone). Suggestions? What brand combination of foundation %26amp; powder will hold throughout the day?
You need to wear a primer, like Smashbox's primer or MAC's prep and prime. Don't use CoverGirl, it isn't very good. Try MAC. Go to the counter and ask them what they think is best for you. Probably Studio Fix Fluid because it will last all day, if you want lighter coverage then MAC Face and Body. Their colors will match any skin tone. What brand combination of foundation %26amp; powder will hold throughout the day?
u should google Dinair Airbrush Makeup...its awesome. it stays on all day and covers everything making my skin look flawless...but its all water based so its super light weight and not bad for ur skin...ive been using it for the past 2 weeks and i LOVED it...anywho, hope i helped...=)
when i had bad acne, i used bare minerals foundation, and mac studio fix powder foundation. great coverage, and stays put!

What is the best powder foundation makup?

I need something that covers wellWhat is the best powder foundation makup?
Pure Stay by maybeline is my favorite. It covers well and stays all day!

Good luck. What is the best powder foundation makup?
Philosophy makes a great mineral makeup. It is really easy to use and isn't as messy as bare Minerals.

    www.philosophy.com
MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation is good because it really evens out your skin tone. You can use it alone or on top of a liquid foundation. When i use it alone i apply it with a brush for a finer and more even application. It doesn't cake and it covers well and stays on all day.
I love Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals. I've been wearing it for over 4 years and for me it covers well, doesn't clog my pores, it matches my skin and has an SPF15. I have dark circles %26amp; broken capalaries and this covers them without looking like a mask.

It's on the pricy side but a full size jar will last you a long time. For me it lasts around 9 months.

Both the Bare Escentuals boutiques and Sephora carry the starter kits which run $60-$75 depending on where you get it. Both have 2 foundation shades, warmth, mineral veil, 3 brushes and the instructional DVD.

Give it a try if you don't like it you can return it
Try the powder foundation by colorlab...it's mineral and good for your skin.

It also gives great coverage. Check it out on their website:

    http://www.colorlab-cosmetics.com/

I stumbled across it in a department store and I would never ever go back to normal foundation again.
I really like Mineral powder foundation from loreal. It feels smooth and soft, not caked on like liquid foundation. It works best after cleansing, toning, moisturizing and then applying. Good luck!
i.d. Bare Minerals is the best stuff to use. It's kinda expensive, but I bought the ';trial'; size (which is half the size of the normal thing) and it's lasted for 2 months and I still have another month or so with it. Plus, it has great coverage, but looks so natural. Also, it doesn't cause skin to break out. Studies have actually shown that using Bare Minerals can actually improve the condition of your skin. Good luck!! Hope I could help.
    Everyday Minerals.

They have different types - semi-matte, matte, intensive, orignal glo for all skin types. They have 34 different shades, your guaranteed to find your match.

You can get a sample kit which has 3 foundations, 1 concealer, 1 blush for around 3 something dollars.

It's really good, and I'm really in love with it. Samples last quite a bit.

It doesn't clog at all, and its really natural.

    http://www.everydayminerals.com
Bare MInerals. Its awesome and so worth the money. It lasts for a really long time.
I have been using MAC since I was in high school. Anyone I have reccommended it to has stuck with it and loved it! MAC has different types of coverage, but I find studio fix to be the best. They can match your color PERFECTLY. It looks even, and natural, when applied correctly. I have friends with freckles that use the product, which successfully covers them.... and even blemishes. I love the way looks and I always get compliments on my make up. MAC is an excellent product, and its affordable. I use the make up daily, and the powder lasts at least 4 months. I love it, and I know you will too! Best of luck! Visit your local counter so you can have a rep match you and show you different types of coverage so you can choose what works best for you.
The best is one by mark by Avon. I've always wanted to wear powder foundation but have found them ALL to be too thick making my skin flakey. Bare Escentuals sucks if you have any scars b/c it just accentuates them and it's not good for people w/real acne. (It'll cover bumps but not acne.) This mark stuff is surprisingly great and it's fairly cheap so give it a try!
    covergirl
I've been using the Cover Girl one that comes in the square package for years. I always used liquid before I tried it and have never gone back.
Sheercover, I'm not sure if you can buy it at the store, I think you have to order it... I'm 13 but I still have to use it considering some of the scars that I have, but my mom ordered it and got it somewhere, It stays good all day!

if you want to splurge, go for some bareminerals and you will never look back. really. great coverage, lightweight, and totally worth it. Starter kits are usually around $60 but if you were to buy all those pieces separately it would cost a LOTTTT more. What powder/foundation should I use for oily/dry skin.?
You should probably begin by using a moisturizer to help balance your skin, here's the moisturizer that helped me http://www.marykay.com/bvelazquez/skinca鈥?/a>

Or you can try using an oil mattifier to control the oil too

    http://www.marykay.com/bvelazquez/skinca鈥?/a>
You sound like me two yrs ago. I also used the CG powder foundation and it does make your face oilier. I am in heaven and love clinique clarifying powder foundation it really works. Please try this I know you will be happy. It does cost more but is so worth it. I also like a lighter coverage.

    Check it out Clinique.com
I use maybeline loose powder. i can't remmeber exactly what the name is and im too lazy to walk upstairs, haha. but i also have oily skin and it seems to help.
My friend wears mineral makeup from Valana Minerals. The owner/founder is a black woman and she has custom blended the colors to match women of color. http://www.valanaminerals.com/

have u tried studio fix by mac they have a more diverse range - also u can try bare escentuals if u dont have acne prone skin
Use Revlon Colorstay Soft-flex foundation for oily-combination skin. It works very good.
You should use bare minerals make up. It is really good make up and it is good for your skin.

How to make foundation powder not look crusty on your skin?

I use Bare Minerals and I love it but I also have a few blemishes and instead of covering it, the powder outlines it to make it more noticeable and it gets really crusty and I just end up taking all the make-up off because the pimples only get more noticeable.

I've tried liquid foundation but it just does the exact same thing. I also don't like it because it gives you a cakey feelings and it was too time-consuming for me.

I want my skin to be smooth so application will be easy and the foundation won't look all crusty. How to make foundation powder not look crusty on your skin?
This guide will help you choose a better foundation for your skin type: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>

Bare minerals is great, but it's not for everyone. It sounds like it's not working for you. You can find other foundations (such as semi matte and matte foundations) that will work better to cover up acne. How to make foundation powder not look crusty on your skin?
okay i use Bare Minerals don't stop using that others are bad for your face and if someone tells you that they are all the same don't believe them okay i had the same problem but this is what i did

go and get CeraVa lotion and put that on befor you but the powder on than if you still have it kinda crsty lookin put somemore on i that spot only

and what is great about the lotion is that its not think and heavy
the reason they are crust is because the Bare Minerals is drying it up. so it actually a good thing. you just have to wait it out. before you knwo it you wont have any. and make sure you are using the right tone for your skin. because if you not that tends to high light the pimples more. match it yourself the chicks at the counter do not know anything. i am a yellow tint on my skin and the lady tried to sell me a pink/red lol i was like uhhh no im good so i got the one i like. so jsut make sure. but keep wearing it dont take it off. because it helping your pimples.

    hope this helps.
Do you use the Bare Minerals Skin Rever-Upper? I use and love Bare Minerals. I use the Skin Rever-Upper under the makeup to keep my skin from looking dry. If you do not have the Skin Rever-Upper, just use a good moisturizer!! Hope this helps. Have a great day!!
Do you use moisturizer before you put on your foundation?

Sometimes skin can become flaky/crusty when you use the powder because it is too dry. Try using moisturizer, and see how you go? :]
Maybelline Mineral Makeup is really good, and really smooth and soft.
Sephora and or Mac and Mark.

I use Sephora and I love it and I use Mark Conceler
    even strokes and good powder
One thing i don't agree with is when someone recommends something specific for someone bc it may not work for you. you need to figure out what your skin type is. What I think you should do is when you wash your face use an exfoliating cleanser that will help with blemishes and then use a moisturizer that help control oils bc that is what causes blemishes. As soon as you get out of the shower pat dry your face and use the oil control moisturizer. Also try cocoa butter its great for any skin you may want to avoid the t-zones bc that may make you oily.

The price of mac products are very fair and cheap, compared to other expensive cosmetics.Easy 10 points what is a good powder foundation, concealer and liquid foundation?
I`m an expert in this area, so have no fear (LOL!) Anyways the best foundation that I use is 16 Hr. Lasting Effect by Rimmel. I love this because it is cheap at 6 dollars, gives great coverage, and is really blendable. This is available at Wal-Mart. For powder foundation I would go with Bare Escentuals because they are known for their powder foundation and great skin care products. For concealer, go with Concealer 101 Duo by Physician`s Formula. Its a creamy conealer with a brush and a yellow section to cover redness and dark circles and a flesh tone to cover the yellow! Hope I helped!
The Nutrimetics brand by Avalla has awesome skin care, makeup and body care products. It's a 50 year old company who's name means Nutritional Cosmetics. Their entire makeup range is made from fruit and vegetable extracts, it's lightweight with awesome coverage, never feels heavy or looks like makeup and lasts all day. It's nutrition for the skin so you can feel safe in it's purity. Check out the beauty veil for liquid or perfect matte oil free for a little thicker coverage. I also wear the nc velvet wet-dry as foundation or powder. My concealer of choice is luminous cover in a stick, also the correctique green for blemishes is spectacular. All products are 100% guaranteed too.

    Hey :)

I use Revlon Colorstay, they have a line for oily/combination skin, and a line for dry skin. They sell liquid foundation, powder and concealer. Its only $15 for a bottle of liquid foundation, and it lasts me about half a year. Its amazing, its the best I've used for sure, and its the only brand that doesn't make me break out at all.

    Here's a link! http://www.revlon.com/ProductCatalog/Pro鈥?/a>
mark. is a great brand for natural light make-up. This brand is long lasting but doesn't cake up.

This is my favorite product. It is an all in one, but it is not heavy so you can put a power foundation on top of it for a more flawless finish.

    Concealer, YSL Touche eclat

Power, the powder of Este茅 Lauder double wear.
mineral powder looks flawless too and it gets in all the nooks and crannys and if you use a sponge it looks airbrushed :)

Do we have to apply moisturising cream before putting on powder foundation?? I have a combination skin type?

i was just keen to know... as i have a dry skin %26amp; was planning to buy powder foundation...is it necessary to apply moisturising cream?

Also i wanted to know which company's foundation powder is good?Do we have to apply moisturising cream before putting on powder foundation?? I have a combination skin type?
I recommend that everyone use moisturizer, even people who have really oily skin! In fact, I think that if your skin is oily or combination, it's even more important to wear moisturizer. If you think about it, often times people with oily skin tend to wash their faces more or use harsher, oil-fighting cleansers to combat it. And the skin responds by producing more oil to compensate for the drying effects of the cleansers. If the skin is oily or combination, use a lightweight moisturizer. If your skin is dry, you can use a richer one. But always, always moisturize--your skin will thank you in about 20 years! :)

i just want to make this short and clear for you..

it doesn't matter what kind of makeup you're going to apply,, be it powder foundation, or just normal powder or whatsoever.... moisturizer is a MUST!!! it helps to prime your face and it really is important to maintain your healthy skin.....

as for foundation powder, i'd recommend CLINIQUE for more of a pricey look and REVLON for more of a drugstore look..... ^^

    hope this helps.
Yes moisturizer helps prime your skin so you can skip primer. make sure the moisturizer is oil-free and also check for SPF labels. the best powder foundation is Clinique Perfectly Real Compact Makeup

Powder foundation on my moms grey carpet?

I opened my powder foundation and it spilt all over my moms brand new grey carpet! Im panicking :o It wasn't on purpose. I got my face wipe and rubbed the floor and its still there, kinda smudged in though.

Any idea's on how to get it out?

Thanks!Powder foundation on my moms grey carpet?
Did you attempt to vacuum it first? Using a broom to lift the fibers then vacuuming would have gotten up. Worse comes to worse, use a spray bottle if you have one or use a mixing bowl, add a small amount of laundry detergent about a teaspoon, a half cup of vinegar, and fill with water. Spray or sponge on the area and use a small scrub brush to ';lift'; up inside the carpet, DO NOT SCRUB DOWN INTO THE CARPET. Take a dry towel and blot the area even stepping on it to lift the water and dirt out. Using just water, spray or sponge clean water with a little laundry softener on top (the softener neutralizes the soap) and lightly brush that in and up. Blot with a clean dry cloth. Now use only water, spray or sponge, the area with clean water and then dry with towel pressing to get the water up as much as possible. That is the best I can tell you. Unless you have a carpet shampooing machine. If so, just follow the instructions on the machine.

Good luck darlin' I hope you can get it out and she isn't mad at you.Powder foundation on my moms grey carpet?

What are the ingredients in foundation/powder that cause acne?

I'm looking for foundation that doesn't cause breakouts and want to know wich ingredients to look out for. What are the ingredients in foundation/powder that cause acne?
mineral oil and talc powder. Steer clear of both and you're goldenWhat are the ingredients in foundation/powder that cause acne?
Any make up can cause break outs if it isn't washed of at the end of the day or if it's expired.
You have to look for products that are oil free, noted on the label.
Talc. I'd suggest using bare minerals/bare escentuals. Go in and have them do a sample for you, its amazing stuff. No only does it prevent acne but it heals it after a while. I've seen it.

Compact powder foundation and loose powder foundation - the difference?

I know that compact powder foundation is doesn't have a 'flour' consistency and that loose powder foundation does, but, is there a difference in the appearance of it when you put it on?

Like, is compact less noticeable but doesn't offer as much coverage, whereas loose is more noticeable close up but covers blemishes more? Can somebody clarify this for me please? Also, which is better for oily/shiny skin if not either? Thanks.Compact powder foundation and loose powder foundation - the difference?
I prefer compact, but compact powder is known to cause breakouts because of the extra oils involved that condenses the powder.

Loose powder is better for your skin. Also, make sure you always use a makeup brush (and not a compact pad) whether its for compact or loose powder. It will help you spread the color more thoroughly and help prevent breakouts.Compact powder foundation and loose powder foundation - the difference?
loose is more light weight but will give more coverage then Pressed

  • What is the best foundation, powder you can find at wallmart or the drugstore?

And good as in the best one at one of these places, compared to the best you could find period? Anywhere, if money was no object, or just your more expensive favorite? But basically, what is the best foundation / powder at the drugstore, or department store and can you describe how well they work? What is the best foundation, powder you can find at wallmart or the drugstore?
I couldn't live a day without my Nearly Naked Makeup from Almay. It has an SPF of 15 and a buff of 140. It really makes my pores look smaller and covers blemishes, and feels practically weightless. I got it at K-Mart for a little less than $10.What is the best foundation, powder you can find at wallmart or the drugstore?
The foundation I use is Maybeline Dream Matte Mousse, it blends very well, covers pimples/blemishes well, and though is about $10 for a small container, it lasts very long. It also stays on your face for a long time. It can be found in drug stores, and in my opinion, is much better than the foundaion that you get at Sephora, MAC, MaryKay, and Clinique. The container looks like this:

    http://images1.reviewcentre.com/sent-in/鈥?/a>
physicians formula mineral loose powder. it covers everything but looks like your wearing nothing. its made for sensitive and acne prone skin so it wont clog your pores.
Well I use the CoverGirl powder/liquid foundation. It comes in this brown rectangle thing. It's a little over 6 dollars and covers your face really good. If you get the color that matches your skin then it looks like you're not wearing anything. If you have acne or red spots it covers them up really good. It does not make your face greasey or cakey. It's what I use. It's right at wal-mart. good luck!

i believe it is not tha brand that makes the difference but the type of product you buy. here are some tips to choose the one that mathces your skin type:

    http://www.make-up.becomegorgeous.com/ma鈥?/a>

    hope it helped!
Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Loose powder foundation. its so natural that you wont even realize its on. it covers up freckles really nicely and it gives you that matte, natural finish like you dont even have anything on. =-)
any clinique powder makeup works great it leaves a nice matte finish on your skin but just use this if you have oily skin.

also superbalenced liquid makeup with 15 works great it helps to control oil in yourskin plus is fragrance very gentle on your skin
you should shy away from the mac products since there oil based which causes you to look more oily but def. try mineral makeup go to a bare mineral store at you local mall and let them help you find a shade.
mineral makeup is really good for getting flawless skin, and this one also has spf so it works great in the sun. heres a link http://www.bareminerals.com/
I like Sephora's Brand. MAC didn't work for me. I hated it. I think most people like it just to say they use MAC.
    ALMAY! for sure.

What foundation/powder do you recommend for a velvety finish?

I am 27 years old, during my late teens, I suffered from blackheads mostly. I have oily skin, my pores a slightly open, I also got red spots all over my face... What foundation have you tried that leaves a velvety look?

Thanks. What foundation/powder do you recommend for a velvety finish?
    You need 3 things:

A greenish concealer to cover the red spots. Green neutralizes red.

The Hollywood mineral foundation, and the Veil.

I use all of them and they are great. Leaves you with an airbrushed looking face. Best thing is you can get samples for like $1-2 and they ship them free to you.

Then if you like it, you can get it all in a kit for about $30.

I've been using their makeup for about a year now and my skin has cleared up so much that I rarely need the green concealer!

http://www.laminerals.comWhat foundation/powder do you recommend for a velvety finish?
I love Estee Lauder foundation. Double Wear, (when applied correctly) will give you a polished finish. I swear every time I wear it people compliment me on my skin... even when I'm in the midst of a break out it still makes me look polished. Go to your local department store and have the ladies in cosmetics match your color. I promise it wont make you look made up or like a cake face, it just makes the skin look healthy and even toned.
Coty Airspun Powder is a classic that leaves your skin looking flawless.
loreal paris bare minerals collection is the best....i highly recommend it

The best brand I can think of is MAC. If you prefer drugstore barnds - Revlon and Maybelline both have an extensive shade range.

    Revlon - colorstay range

Maybelline - dream matte mousse, superstay silky
what about covergirl queen make-up? they contain much more pigments than their usual make-up.

i would love to post a link, but the procter %26amp; gamble server is down...so check back at covergirl.com, click products, then queen, and it should take you to the page.
The only one I know about that is heavily advertised is Queen Latifah's Cover Girl line, Queen. In one season of America's Next Top Model, Eugena wore it and it looked really great.

kabuki brushes are good mac also have brushes you can go to your drugstore and get a brush that's for powder foundation it should say it on the package
Body shop do really good brushes for a quarter of the price of Mac dont go to boots or superdrug.
A ';kabuki'; brush will give you great coverage and help you to blend easily. It can also be used for blush or bronzer. Here's a link to some good ones i've used:

What is the difference between Loose Powder and Mineral Powder Foundation?

Loose powder foundation is manufactured powder, and mineral powder

is natural minerals (some use vitamin E and Shea butter also). Mineral powder is supposedly better for your skin because it is made of

natural products. I don't know. I've been using different brands of makeup for years and my skin is fine. I've tried the mineral makeup and I don't get as big a difference as the models on TV, but then again,

I don't have a makeup artist applying it.What is the difference between Loose Powder and Mineral Powder Foundation?
I personally think that loose powder is horrible!! It clogs your pores, and is extremally messy. Mineral powder such as sheer cover(I highly recommend it) blends easily and doesnt clog your pores. It also cleans easily off your face but it doesnt wipe off throughout the day. You just have to learn how to use it. Hope I helped!! :-) What is the difference between Loose Powder and Mineral Powder Foundation?
Loose powder is made of anything the manufacturing company decides.

Mineral powder is made of minerals and for me seems to cover better and longer. It mixes with the oils in your skin and looks flawless to me
Mineral powder foundation can be compact ... but not loose..its made of mineral natural elements that can not damage ur skin ..

Loose powder is like when u finish ur foundation and u want to add this flawless elegant silky look to ur makeup .. so u use loose powder..but its more artificial than the mineral ones..

U can apply some of loose powder too under ur eyes to catch any of the falling eyeshadow that may ruin ur makeup ...
Mineral powder foundation is just that.. foundation. It's purpose is to smooth out your skin tone and cover any blemishes/subtle marks you may have on your face. It is really good for people with sensitive, normal-oily, or acne prone skin. It feels light weight and doesn't clog pores. Bare Minerals is what I recommend.

Loose powder should be the last product you use after (in order) your concealer, foundation, bronzer, blush, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara and lip products. It is used to ';set'; your make-up so that it will last longer. You should also apply your loose powder throughout the day. If you have oil build up it will matte it and it will brush off any dirt debris that may have clinged to your face.

    I hope this helps.. :)

powder is a type of foundation.. it for less coverage.. liquid foundation covers moreWhat's the difference between powder %26amp; foundation?
powder can be used over liquid foundation to keep your skin from getting oily over the day. but you can get powder foundation.

foundation in general is what is used to even out your skin tone.

if you have oily skin, or none to very few blemishes you generally use powder, and it usually doesnt clog your pores very much if you use a good brand.

if you have dry skin or very red skin or lots of blemishes to cover up you use liquid because it is thicker and covers with less of the product.

or you can use a tinted moisturizer, clear powder, concealer, or so many other things it would make you go crazy.

i have dreams about trying to pick out makeup and i end up throwing all the stuff off the shelves i get so upset. What's the difference between powder %26amp; foundation?
powder is usually used to cover oily spots while foundation is to even out skin tone.

What should I use: liquid or powder foundation?

I hear that liquid foundation is for dry skin and powder foundation is for oily skin. I have oily skin, so I'm leaning toward powder, but will it make me break out? I already have some minor acne so I'm a little scared of what foundation will do to my face. What should I use: liquid or powder foundation?
I would use powder foundation (use neutrogena) Make sure to buy a make up remover and wash your face with it every night before going to bed and you shouldn't get any breakouts... Neautrogena also helps prevent acne. What should I use: liquid or powder foundation?
Powder most defiantly with liquid foundation you have to get the exact color or risk looking like a clown powder you can go a little either way and it not be noticeable. Get mineral powder to its good for your skin! The acne shouldnt flair up if you take your foundation off when your chilling out at home and stuff. I have acne prone skin and tend to break out if I leave it on over night when I am feeling to lazy to take it off so as long as you remember to take it off I think you will be good.

If you have oily skin, DO NOT use foundation. It will only make your skin look even more oily. If you really need to use something like foundation, use a tinted moisturizer, it will hydrate your skin, even out your complexion, and also give you a foundation look. (You skin tone will be lightly evened out.)

Can you mix moisturizer with powder foundation?

Can you mix moisturizer with powder foundation and then apply it as one product? or do you have to do them separately? Can you mix moisturizer with powder foundation?
I tried that once, it made the pigment itself of my foundation more pronounced and when I put it on it was very un-natural.

If you are going to do that, I suggest only mixing a little powder with the moisturizer. It might look more natural.

Can you mix moisturizer with powder foundation?
You can do that if you want more coverage but I'd be careful, it can turn out cakey.

    Use separately.
use them sepretly because if you dont the powder will stick out like clumps

I also know I don't have to wear both the powder and the liquid, but can I also wear both or is that too crazy?

Thanks guys! When do I put on my powder foundation?
You 1st apply liquid foundation, then powder. Powder is to set your makeup in place so it could last the whole day without a shiny face. HTHWhen do I put on my powder foundation?
its more up to you, rather than a must or a have to.

if it works better for you to put it on before you eyeshadow do it that way.

powder's good for setting things, so if you put it on after. dot a tiny bit over you eyeshadow, this will stop it creasing and going grundgey.

and then set another layer of eyeshadow.

    this should last all day{:

    well i wear both.

    i put liquid foundation on.

and set it withs the powder.

    {:
    Your SUPPOSED to wear both.

Just put on your liquid foundation like you always do (not too heavy though) and then take a Kabuki brush and apply powder everywhere or areas where you need it to be mattified.

The powder is mainly to mattify.

And, put powder on before eyeshadow.
my best friend taught me the trick of putting liquid on first then the power to bring my features out....cheeck bones, forehead and chin and i loved the way it looked...then u apply eyeshadow-liner etc
    Its up to you..

I like to do eyemakeup first so that if any possible mistakes happen you can wipe them off without ruining your foundation.
I use liquid foundation and then I mix two different powders together. I apply right after, then I do another sweep after I'm all done with the eyes just to make sure underneath my eyes

I'm looking at Stila's and Shiseido's powder foundations, I just would rather buy the refill without the compact. Would I be able to store it in the plastic container I assume they are shipped in?Do you have to buy the compact / case to go along with powder foundation?
Stila and Shiseido have lovely powder foundations. I think it's okay to buy refills as long as you can store them with convenience.

What foundation do I buy now that Mary Kay has discontinued the Dual Coverage Powder Foundation?

You could call your Mary Kay Rep and ask her ...and lots of times even though the product is discontinued some of the Reps still have it in their stock. And I went to their website and it looks like they have some good foundations ...they even have a new Mineral line as well so you might want to try something different. And you could contact a Rep from this website and inquire if anyone still has the product you used ..... I hate it when you find something you like and works and then they stop carrying it....Hopefully you will find something you like just as well....

Yes it was discontinued however they still have a press powder talk to your consultant you just might like the new one just as much or even better.

Also have her ask around for the shade you use several of us still have some in stock I ordered extra for my customers so I would have some when they needed it.What foundation do I buy now that Mary Kay has discontinued the Dual Coverage Powder Foundation?
    Hi --

I would recommend you try either the new mineral pressed powder or the mineral powder. I use the mineral powder and absolutely love it. You can do anything from sheer to full coverage - it's also offered at a fraction of the price of the other mineral powders out there. A local consultant could probably let you try theirs! If you just want to jump on and order, just let me know. Here is the link. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions!

What is the best powder foundation make-up that has minerals in it?

Everday Minerals is good. Go to their website, everydayminerals.com, they give you free samples of two foundations that you can choose, depending on your skin tone, skin type, etc. and a blush and a bronzer. But you have to pay for shipping which is $4, but it's cheap because the minerals are incredibly concentrated, so all you need is a teeny teeny bit. Should lasts you at least two months. So you can try everything before deciding to spend big bucks on bare minerals. I know people who have used both, and they prefer everyday minerals. Good luck! What is the best powder foundation make-up that has minerals in it?
yeah Bare Minerals, try to visit Sephora store near you,for a free make-up so you will know if its good on you. What is the best powder foundation make-up that has minerals in it?
    bare minerals
Bare Escentuals . Also Neutrogena has a new powder/mineral foundation.called Mineral Sheers.
I love Bare Minerals. I've been using it for 3 1/2 years and have had great luck with it. It doesn't clog your pores, you control the coverage and it has a SPF15.

If you're near either a Bare Escentuals boutique or Sephora stop in and check it out. Both carry a starter kit which has 2 foundation shades, warmth, mineral veil, 3 brushes and an instructional DVD, it runs $60-$75.

Give it a try, if you don't like it you can return it.

With whichever mineral makeup you go with remember, a little goes a long way.

    Good luck!!

What will happen if you use expired Bare Minerals powder foundation?

will it cause you to break out? What will happen if you use expired Bare Minerals powder foundation?
Bare Minerals makeup actually doesn't expire. There was a time before the FDA recognized Bare Minerals as a sunscreen that they had to put an expiration date on their packaging because they had to say the sunscreen abilities expired. Now that more research has been done and they have proved the sunscreen abilities don't expire, things changed. The new packages don't even contain an expiration date anymore. The product has not - and will never - expire. What will happen if you use expired Bare Minerals powder foundation?
Yupp, it could definitely will cause you to break out.

Expired make-up is a really bad toxin, because it contains bad bacteria.

Minerals, or not it can still be harmful.

    Hope i helped.
yes your skin will brun off!!!! dont use it dont use it the world will end

ohhhhh not (expired mineral powder) ohhhh what are you gonna do
Nothing different will happen, it'll be fine.
no, the magick makeup gnomes steal them
    Your skin will burn off
    Your skin will burn off

What brush is best to apply my cream to powder foundation?

i have studio tech by mac which is a cream to poweder foundation and right now im using the sponge applicator that it comes with but i wanted to switch to a brush but idk which one to use. HELP :)What brush is best to apply my cream to powder foundation?
    Use the mac 187

Help me please, i have a make up question

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>What brush is best to apply my cream to powder foundation?
As a make up artist, I usually apply cream based products with a synthetic brush. The fibers allow the product to glide off the brush smoothly. You will also find that you get a more even application. Using a brush will help you use less product, therefore you will be saving money. Sponges tend to absorb more product into themselves than you get on your face, they also tend to absorb dirt and bacteria.
You dont use a brush for cream to powder. You need the sponge

What do you think of a guy who wears powder foundation on his face?

    I'm fine with it.

There are guys who can pull it off and guys who can't.

For instance, Marilyn Manson (who I think is extremely sexy) can pull it off.

Someone with different features or facial hair I don't think can...What do you think of a guy who wears powder foundation on his face?
It's alright. Everyone has there reasoning. For instance, my father didn't like it but I put powder foundation on his head when I took there pictures for my parents anniversary. Between his and her glasses and his head. I had to tone it down! What do you think of a guy who wears powder foundation on his face?
that he's as straight as a rainbow haha

no offense but seriously - i dont like perfect celeb-looking guys

my friend %26amp; i agree tht we like some guys with the whole pizza face. i mean guys dont need makeup at all

    its too weird
I dont have a prob with it, you are who you are, and if your happy then who cares what people think lol.
    a) hes a clown

    b) hes gay and/or a drag queen

    c) hes just weird

    d) his sister put it on him as a joke
    he probably likes boys..
I don't have too much problem with it unless I can see the powder creases
    insecure and/or gay

How do i know if i have a foundation brush? what are the differences between powder & foundation brushes?

I have a brush i use for the powder i put on my face, but i really do need a foundation brush for my foundation.

What do foundation brushes look like and could you use a small powder brush instead or is that just stupid!?How do i know if i have a foundation brush? what are the differences between powder %26amp; foundation brushes?
Well a powder brush is fluffy a foundation brush should look like paint brush. And no, you don't need one. Application is all about your preference, some people like to use their hands, there's sponge applicators in pretty much whatever shape you'd like, or a brush of course.

As for using a small powder brush. . . brushes are designed differently to handle either powder OR liquid, normally not both so I would nix that idea. But a foundation brush it not essential, personally that's what I prefer, but everyone is different! Good luck! How do i know if i have a foundation brush? what are the differences between powder %26amp; foundation brushes?
a powder brush is a larger blush brush. A foundation brush looks like a paint brush. It's typicaly about 3/4 inch wide. They're great...

quick tip: to make your foundation go further, mix it with your moisturizer. you'll get the benefits of your moisturizer, same coverage, and make both go much further!
foundation brushes are hard and like a paintbrush. powder is much softer/round
Foundation brush : longish handle with approximately one inch stiffish brush.

Blush brush: short fat brush! Also used for powder. Don't see any reason why you can't use a small powder brush if it works for you!

  • What are the ingridents in Powder foundation that are bad for you and cause breakouts?

And also does makeup cause wrinkles??What are the ingridents in Powder foundation that are bad for you and cause breakouts?
It really depends on the product. But anything that's not natural - chemicals, etc. - can irritate skin and make it more prone to breakouts.

And no, make up does not cause wrinkles. However, powdered foundation can make wrinkles appear or be more obvious just by the nature of the product.

Best powder foundation for very fair skin?

I hate bare minerals foundation (I have to say that because on every makeup question someone recommends it). I like Mac's Studio Fix in NW15. But it is so expensive. Are there any cheaper powder foundations that work and look similar?

Thanks!Best powder foundation for very fair skin?

If you wear powder foundation, do you have to wear regular powder?

Like, if you have a foundation that is in a powder form, do you have to wear regular face powder over it to set it? Or is it okay to leave it alone?

Thanks so much for answering. I will pick B.A. [:If you wear powder foundation, do you have to wear regular powder?
no, you do not need to wear another powder over your powder foundation. however, if you are wearing a loose powder foundation such as a mineral foundation, you may want to carry a powder compact for touchups and to control shine. If you wear powder foundation, do you have to wear regular powder?
i usually use liquid foundation but i use to wear powder foundation. and i just put it on. i didnt put powder over it. i usually just wear powder foundation and blush. it works =]
I NEVER put powder over my foudation and it stays set just fine, as long as you're not getting sweaty or anything, for the plays at our school, i use a special powder to set their makeup because it is so hot on stage, but if you're not sweating, you don't need it.
I have a friend who sells Mary Kay and she says with the powder form of foundation you don't have to use powder afterwards to ';set'; the makeup. Thats the good thing about the powdre form , she says.
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!
You can wear it alone I do it all the time, and sometimes I think it looks best alone.
no its basically the sam ething lol
HONESTLY U TOLD ME TO ASNSWER YOUR QUESTION I DONT KNO WHAT THE HECK UR TALKING ABOUT...SO IF I DID I WOULD HAVE BEEN GLAD TO ASNWER WITH KNOWLEDGE
no, you dont. its made of the same thing so its like ur putting more on your face.
    no. it acts as both.
u can wear it alone it works fine

Has anyone tried Maybelline Mineral Power Powder Foundation?

Can you describe the finish? Does it have a slight shimmer?Has anyone tried Maybelline Mineral Power Powder Foundation?
I have a few foundations I use and this is among them. It is the only mineral foundation I have tried so cannot compare it to others. It does not have a shimmer finish but is matte finish. I find it hides minor blemishes and uneven skin quite nicely. The brush it is supplied with is ok but I found I got better result with a better kabuki brush (I have the cosmopolitan one from Superdrug) And its all in the application technique, get this right and the results will be good. If you do want a bit of shimmer, I use a very light dusting of Clinique gentle light powder - its about 拢18 but you get a lot, mine lasts ages. If you prefer not to spend that much then you will also get a nice shimmer from Rimmel renew %26amp; lift powder, but again use sparingly as this is a pressed powder and not loose like the Clinique.

Sorry have gone off track a little there but wanted to explain how to get that light shimmer if it was the finish you were after :)

Also just to add I find the mineral foundation really helps clear up my spots when I have a break out but it can also be a bit drying so use a good moisturiser. Oh and let your moisturiser absorb for a few minutes before applying your mineral foundation!Has anyone tried Maybelline Mineral Power Powder Foundation?
it has a LITTLE bit of shimmer, and it is not THAT matte. i like it, but be REALLY SURE to get the right color, because i ended up getting a tad darker shade and during the day it does oxidation. which means it mixes with your natural oils and the shade becomes darker than it starts off to be. i really think it looks good on people who got the right shade though. the coverage is very coparable to clinique! :)
My friend uses it, and it is SPECTACULAR it gives the face a slight sheen and works well with all skin types.

Use it with a round small brush and make sure to tap the brush, you'll only have to use a minimal amount to make your face flawless.

I don't use drugstore cosmetics to much, but this is something I definitely plan to buy.

Is mineral liquid or mineral powder foundation better for oily skin?

Is mineral liquid or mineral powder foundation better for oily skin? If mineral powder foundation is used, is using an additional powder to set make-up necessary? Are there any low- to mid-price brands you would recommend? Is mineral liquid or mineral powder foundation better for oily skin?
Mineral is better because it absorbs oil and won`t clog pores. No, you do not need an additional powder. Physicians Formula Talc-Free loose powder is great for oily skin. Almay loose skin is also, but it gives more coverage. They are about $10-$11 each and go on sale often. Is mineral liquid or mineral powder foundation better for oily skin?
The less coverage you use, the better. After I began applying Vaseline to my T-zone at night before going to bed and ditching the daily liquid foundation, my skin has improved in tone and health SO much and doesn't produce nearly as much oil. I've never used mineral foundation/powder, but have found that after only a few weeks of using the Vaseline routine, my skin calmed down a lot and now only requires a layer of compact powder (I use CoverGirl TRUblend) and a few dabs of concealer. And you will feel so much better when you don't have all the weight of a liquid foundation on your skin.
Mineral powder doesn't cover that good at all...well at least for me. i have oily %26amp; acne prone skin. and when i tried it, it irritated my skin %26amp; made it itch...and plus it didn't even cover my acne or anything. it was like wearing bronzer but in your color. it was terrible. i love MAC's studio fix powder foundation. i's great coverage %26amp; its buildable %26amp; it helps with my oily skin %26amp; it covers my acne. it doesn't make me break out that i've noticed...well since i do always have acne lol. maybe you should try it %26amp; see if u like it. or maybe try another powder foundation if your not comfortable with wearing MAC's. hope i helped =)
i think powder would be better because it won't slide off as easily as liquid when you sweat.

also i heard that it absorbs the oil on your face.

i don't think you have to use separate setting powder. not sure. but for liquid you should because it can melt off your face.

physicians formula is good because it won't clog your pores %26amp; there's one that's talc free.
i would use mineral powder, but if ur skin is really oily, you migt want to use mineral liquid then put on mineral powder....its just that if your skin is really oily, it might wash away the powder, but at the same time if you put mineral liquid by itself it might look too oily automatically...so i wud say put the liquid then the powder on...

    hope i helped!! :)

Is there any good for your skin kinds of creme-to-powder foundation?

I used to use bare minerals, but after a while it seems to make my face look greasy and over-done. I also didn't like using brushes because I didn't feel that I could clean them out very well like you can with a pad that comes with foundations.

What are some better options? I'm trying to avoid foundations over all because my skin is sensitive. Is there any good for your skin kinds of creme-to-powder foundation?
CoverGirl True Match or Dream Matte Mousse. They're both equally wicked I swear. I've been through alot of foundation and I've never found anything better than those yet.Is there any good for your skin kinds of creme-to-powder foundation?
i love Dinair Airbrush Makeup...its amazing...it makes my skin look flawless and stays on all day...its also all water based so its not bad for ur skin cause it doesnt clog ur pores. ive been using it for 2 years and i LOVE it...if u just google Dinair u will find their site and u can look through their site and stuff...anywho, i hope i helped...=)

My powder foundation and lip tint fade or fall off after a few hours at the most?

Without spending very much money....(5 dollars would be nice..but Ican go a little bit more if its absolutley neccasary)

How can I make my powder foundation by jesses girl stay on all day? and my lip color not fade?My powder foundation and lip tint fade or fall off after a few hours at the most?
its not necessary to change your foundation at all, your just need a primer. Unfortunately the best ones i think , dont come under $5.

I recommend MAC prep and prime skin, its $23 however which is alot over what you want to spend.

Look around and you will find cheaper primers that work just as well, you could even try moisturizing your face before application to help the product stay.

For your tinted lip colour, it will fade as annoying as it is. You could try one of those colour lock fluids, you put them on your lips and it kinda puts a clear coat over your lips which you cant feel at all!.My powder foundation and lip tint fade or fall off after a few hours at the most?
Primers are the way to go, but there are cheaper ones. Cover-girl sells a primer/foundation called outlast. This is my favorite type of foundation!

It can be found at any drugstore, walmart, or target. It sells for $5-$10

Also I recommend using a moisturizer before applying your makeup. I love aveeno moisturizers. I use aveeno positively radiant and aveeno ultra-calming moisturizers.

im not very good with picking the right foundations.

i want a powder one that will kinda even my skin tone and will not make my skin feel all cakey and weird.

thank you so much if you help me %26lt;33What is a good powder foundation that wont make my skin look cakey?
MAC stuido fix or mineralize skin finishWhat is a good powder foundation that wont make my skin look cakey?
If your powder looks too cakey there are two reasons why (1) your skin is too dry or (2) you are putting on too much. If I were you, I would use pressed powder since it doesn't get as much powder on the brush. You can always load more on the brush if you need it, but generally one clean sweep is all you need. If you feel you need more coverage, you should switch to a liquid to powder formula.
    i use base

    maybelline-dream mate mousse. foundation-colors:sandy beige,medium

    andd also light beige, medium

but before i apply them i use lotion to make it less notisable and i use the darken one first and then the lighter one and i also use a makeup sponge
The 'mineral makeups' are the best. Bare Escentials is extremely popular but also very expensive. Avon has great mineral makeup including blushes and eyeshadows ... I love them and I love the price! A lot cheaper then BE and the same quality product.
Bare Minerals is wonderful! I have been using it for almost 5 years now, and once you get the hang of putting it on correctly, you will love it! Never cakes!
Any powder foundation will usually not make your skin look cakey.

Physician's Formula is always a good choice.
    clinique or MAC
    bare minerals is good.
anything from bare minerals or mac is great
i think the best would be loreal or however you spell it. been using it for 3 years and love it!!!!!

Can powder foundation dry up the skin?

I have combo skin that is acne-prone. I've noticed that my skin has new weird fine lines and looks quite dry when I wear powder foundation. I do moisturize it well before applying but I was wondering if powder foundation could dry the skin to the point where fine lines appear? Can powder foundation dry up the skin?
I have the same type of skin, what you have to do is put on a good moisturizer, I use AVON hydra-radiance (it has SPF 15), let it stay on your face for 10 minutes then put on your primer and your foundation.

Powder foundations can dry out the skin to the point were there are fine lines visible; however, its not permanent. Just moisturize or just use liquid foundation ( I use revlon color stay and love it).Can powder foundation dry up the skin?
I've been using mineral makeup for the last 3 years and I love it. It goes on naturally, and has been the easiest for matching my skin tone. That said, I have combination skin with oily AND dry areas. I use moisturizer twice a day and that helps balance my skin. I would suggest to anyone that they use powder mineral makeup. My personal preference is Bare Esentuals.
yes, powder does dry ur skin. ive experienced this and i switched to using tinted mosturizer and then conclear. it rly works and doesnt dry my skin anymore. i used to have dry flakey skin which was disgusting!
you do the right thing put 1st the moisturizer before applying the powder
i have realllllllllly dry skin and i hate mineral makeup!!

    or bare minerals

    they are amazing

they have ones with spf or bronzer, or even blush

they are pure oraganic minerals--so no breaking out!
Try Neutrogena Minerals; I love it !! Goes on so evenly and it lasts, plus you can put it in your pocket so by 5 or so, you can dab a little, too! I have mega sensetive skin %26amp; I haven't broken out at all from it, in fact my skin ahs improved! Their mineral bronzer is sweet, too !!!
I use a good Lancome loose powder with a good brush. If you can afford it, go for Lancome, but Cover Girl also makes a decent powder. It is VERY important to get a good brush. You'd be surprised at the difference it makes.
I recommend Loreal Paris True Match
    CoverGirl Queen Collection Powder Foundation

CoverGirl Fresh Complexion Pocket Powder Foundation
I use Cover Girl loose powder. My face never gets oily with it.
i use a face soap from Nuetrogena that keeps your face from getting shiny
physicians formula, about $13 dollars at drugstores

or marykay, a little more expensive but worth it%26lt;3
I think it's called ';Too faced'; or something like that. They sell it at Sephora.
    mark matte-nificent oil-absorbing powder at www.meetmark.com
you need to use an oil controlling lotion first. (i use chanel T-Zone). It really works!
Sephora has their own cosmetic line. the only thing that is cheap is the foundation. Its a powder, and its really matte, but it doesnt have any of that chalky consistency. I have never had my skin get oily while using it. I think its like 6 or 10 dollars now a days but its a big compact so its worth it. I paid like 18 for mine and then i was so mad when i walked in the store and found out that they lowered the price hugely. It may just be that your skin is oily, so bring oil blotting papers in case. and when your in a jam, it sounds gross, but the toilet seat covers in bathrooms work just as well, so take a peice off a fresh one and just stick it over your face. hope that helps! =)
try using bare esscentuals mineral foundation. It wrks really well and then set it with mineral veil. All you really need is a translucent powder to put over all your makeup after you finsish to set it. You can also try oil blotting papers. They will get rid of the grease but your makeup stays put.
I use mineral makeup and that problem for me has been significantly reduced. In fact a little shine looks kinda good with it lol. Also try to use a moisturizer, wait a few, then a primer. It'll help keep oilies at bay.

How long should you keep powder foundation?

I have a container of Clinique powder and it seems like I've had it forever! I would say at least 6 months if not longer...I was just wondering if it should be replaced or if it is ok to use for so long...as in bacteria or anything getting in the powder. The container is still at least half full too! ThanksHow long should you keep powder foundation?
I use a fresh cotton ball every time I apply so there is ot a bunch of facial oils going back on there from the little poofy deal that comes with it. Then it will last longer. How long should you keep powder foundation?
I would probably buy me a new one. What I do, is I usually ask the sales person about how long the product would last and the minute i go home i use a label machine and put an expiration date on the product. If I bought it sept 07 and the shelf yr is for a yr the I label the product sept 08. This is an easy way to remember and with some many products that we buy is hard to remember them all.
as long as u want 2
its should have a sell by date. if you look at the back or bottom it should have a little picture of a container and inside will say either 6M or 12M or 18M or 24M which is the amount of months it will last! its on the back of most beaui products and shampoo!!!
I buy a new one after about a month. And change your cotton ball everyday to start the day fresh!

xoXo.What do you think about Maybelline's Mineral Power Perfecting Powder Foundation?
    hey there,

i myself use Maybelline Mineral Power perfecting powder foundation. I highly recommend it because it gives you a more natural look ;]What do you think about Maybelline's Mineral Power Perfecting Powder Foundation?
i bought it and i hated it....for me it did nothing it did not blend well and i felt like i had way to much on even when i applied only a little. It has sort of a chalky feel to it. I much prefer L'oreal Bare Naturale mineral foundation i love that stuff. It goes on very smooth and leaves your face very soft. It blends extremely well and covers everything up. Plus it feels very natural and light.

It's the only one i use.
ive actually read some mixed reviews..=/...if ur up to other options then u should google Dinair Airbrush Makeup..its awesome...it covers everything and makes my skin look amazingly flawless...ive been using it for the past 2 years and i LOVE it...its also all water based so its not bad for ur skin...anywho...hope i helped...=)
I usually end up beginning inexpensive and using several types. Do what fits your situation and Im sure your instinct will be correct. I read reviews at http://BrandsMakeup.com

What's the best powder foundation for oily skin?

I have oily skin and i've been trying to find the right powder foundation for me because liquids are just way too cakey. i've tried a lot of different ones and none of them seem to work very well. i even tried bare minerals (paid $63 for it thinking it would work) but after just a little while it made my skin look oily. what should i use? What's the best powder foundation for oily skin?
use revlon powder it works great for flawless complexionWhat's the best powder foundation for oily skin?
For years I never wore any foundation or power, as I have gotten older I have only ever found one that looks natural as if I am wearing nothing,

    Sheer Cover

Although I am told Nude by Nature is pretty good also.

The trick is to only apply lightly, any product will look cakey if you apply to much,

Sheer Cover works with the oil in your skin and actually looks better as the day go's on.

Although you may think your skin is oily it may not be it could be the Bare Minerals powder creating a shine on your skin that makes it look oily, Bare Minerals and sheer cover contain an ingredient I can't remember what it is it starts with a ';T'; anyway this ingredient gives a shiny appearance to the face the difference is that sheer cover provides a finishing powder to help correct this.

Nude by nature does not contain this ingredient and does not give the shiny appearance, I will be trying it once my sheercover runs out.
    Try the following:

CLINIQUE STAY-MATTE SHEER PRESSED POWDER- It's their best-selling powder. I have shiny skin too and this seems to work well. It's a moderate coverage powder--which helps avoid the cakey look. If you're really, really oily and looking for deeper coverage, try their clarifying powder makeup.

Buy at: any department store or Sephora.

LAURA MERCIER MINERAL PRESSED POWDER SPF 15- I love Laura Foundations. I think a lot of makeup artists would agree that this is a great line. This powder feels great and looks great, but the price is a bit higher than Clinique. It has good coverage and stays on oily skin very well.

Buy at: Sephora, Nordstrom, Blue Mercury, or Neiman Marcus

MAC BLOT POWDER- I'm not crazy about MAC foundations, but this one seems to work for most people with oily skin who buy it. If you're already partial to MAC, try it.

Buy at: Macy's, MAC Stores, Nordstom

I recommend using a brush, not a sponge to apply powder in general, but even more so when you have oily skin.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried using a mattifier or primer? It would sop up that oil nicely. Try one like Origins Zero Oil, Peter Thomas Roth Max Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel, or Laura Mercier Foundation Primer-Oil Free.
First of all you have to keep in mind you need to use the right foundation or powder texture for your skin type. They have to be oil free.

Second-not all that's expansive works for your skin needs. We are all different. You have to custom fit the textures to your personal skin needs.

For ex : Almost makeup SPF15 oil free foundation from Clinique - very lightweight, very soft finish. Doesn't give you too much coverage. It's 25 CAD.

For more coverage with very soft finish I recommend Superbalanced oil free from Clinique(25 CAD) or Double wear from Estee Lauder (33CAD). They are both liquids, very good coverage with a very soft finish. I am very oily skin and I have freckles. So I need lots of coverage. I personally use Superbalanced from Clinique. I am very happy with it and it stays very well on till the end of the day.

My favorite powder foundation is Almost makeup powder spf15 from Clinique (30CAD). It doesn't give you as much coverage as the liquids that I mentioned though.
Something that's oil and moisturiser free. Trying putting on Aloe Vera gel after you've washed and before you apply makeup. It's natural and oil free.

You could also buy over the counter herbal tablets that apparently reduce skin oils.

There's a powder foundation that's not actually to bad. It's by Avon and unfortunately i've forgotten what it's called. Sorry.

But I hope I helped even the slighest bit.
No powder and no foundation...oily skin tends to be prone to break outs and powders or other face foundations make up will make it worse. I suggest using those oil obsorbing papers that you can buy at spa stores or beauty stores or online. They are pieces of paper specifically designed to wipe up unwanted face grease without clogging pours because there are no ingredents to clog with....Or take a vacation to a really dry climate like Colroado or NM and hang out for a week then your skin will clear up in no time and you can go home foundation and pour clogging free
BeautiControl mineral makeup powder would be great. it is for people with oily skin and only costs like $25. It is comprable to Clinique and Lancome but waaayyyy cheaper.

you can get it at www.beautipage.com/tmeans
Try Clinique Superfit makeup. It's got great reviews and is hypoallergenic. Go to a department store, and they will probably have it. They will determine which level is the best for your skin type. Or you could do trial and error online. :)
any mineral powder, and you dont have to buy an expensive one either. also..try a tinted moisturiser. i find thats good for my oily skin and its not as heavy as a foundation.
I have extremly oily skin and i have found that Bare Minerals works best for me. Around lunch i use oil asorbing pads and reapply.
    Bare Minerals.
